What else is there to say for a 94-year-old organisation that has been entwined in the very fabric of South African society? For us at Edgars, it’s “thank you”. Thank you to all the moms, dads, grannies, gogos, granddads, oupas, and every South African who has supported our brand all these years.
In recognising our loyal customer base across South Africa, Edgars has launched the Edgars CommUnity Competition in every town where it has a store. A share of THREE MILLION RAND will be given away, making it possible for every community where Edgars has a store to have a winning child and a winning school.
We’re inviting children of school going age to create a portrait of themselves and enter to win for themselves and for their school. A winning child will receive R5,000 and a winning school R20,000. We have 103 stores nationwide so there is opportunity for 103 children and schools to win. Portraits brought into Edgars stores will be put on display in our windows. Our store windows will become living acknowledgements of our shoppers.
Entry forms are available in Edgars stores (or single sheets of paper can be used). The minimum size is an A4 page and any medium can be used to create this self-portrait. Portraits can be entered digitally online but portraits brought into an Edgars store will earn five extra entries into the Grand Prize draw for the share of R3 million. PLUS all artwork received at our stores will be put on display in our Edgars windows!
Each child may enter the competition more than once with an individual unique piece of artwork per entry, to increase their chances of winning. We will be choosing winners by random draw at the end of the competition which closes on 25 August 2023.
