Khanyisa learners shine at Eskom Science Expo

Khanyisa Education Centre celebrates young science stars after three learners scoop top honours at the Eskom Science Expo.

LIMPOPO – Three learners from Khanyisa Education Centre made an impression at the Eskom Science Expo held in Boksburg during the recent school holidays.

Khanimambo Hlaneki, a Gr 10 learner, excelled by winning the FFS Refiners Award, the Top of the Category Award, and a gold medal in the Physics, Astronomy, and Space Sciences category.

Her schoolmates also performed exceptionally well. Khanimamba Ndlovu (Gr 12) earned a bronze medal in the Computer Science category, while Asimah Bux (Gr 9) took home a bronze medal in the Environmental Sciences category.

Science teacher Mathildah Musingarimi expressed pride in her learners’ achievements.

“I feel very happy and want Khanyisa Education Centre learners to reach even greater heights,” she told the Herald. “I am also grateful to the parents for their continued support, as well as the encouragement from the school management.”

The Eskom Science Expo is a multi-level competition that begins at school level and progresses through regional, national, and international stages, providing young scientists with a platform to showcase their innovation and research skills.
