Seven bodies buried after three years

Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality mayor, Merriam Malatji, supported by Wisani Burial Society, has laid to rest seven unknown bodies at the Maphutha Malatji Hospital Mortuary.

The corpses were in the mortuary for the past three years. The hospital’s management pleaded with the municipality through the office of the mayor to intervene after the hospital complained about the lack of cold storage, incorrect information about the deceased, and the prolonged investigations by the police and social workers to trace their close relatives.
