Nyiko takes on SA with his bicycle

Adventurer, Nyiko Masango, has conquered nine provinces in 19 days on his bicycle recently.

Masango is currently shooting a documentary titled ‘What’s next?’ on his life. The title is derived from Masango’s habit of always looking for the next best thing to do. He began his journey in Nkowankowa outside Tzaneen on Thursday, September 14 and completed it on Monday, October 2. He travelled a total distance of 2626km, enduring scorching heat, four days of nonstop rain in the Western Cape and winds of 67 kph.

The rain led Nyiko to suspend the journey for a day on the N2, between East London and Port Alfred. His thorough preparation for the threeweek journey, paid off as his ride went without incident or injury, he only had a puncture on one of his two bikes. On his birthday, August 30, he travelled over 300km from Midrand to Polokwane to prepare for the 19-day challenge.

His documentary will be released soon on streaming platform including YouTube.
