Ben Vorster chess players make the right moves

Ben Vorster High School’s first chess team participated in the finals of the Capricorn district chess tournament at Stanford Lake College recently.

The competition was stiff but the local team showed what they were made of by winning 15.5 games, earning them a fourth place.

Nhlamulo Ngobeni, Relebogile Mogale, Chrisjan Genis and Bright Mokgomole.

The team members were Lunghile Mkhawana (captain), Nsovo Frost, Nhlamulo Ngobeni, Relebogile Mogale, Chrisjan Genis and Bright Mokgomole.

The u/15 team obtained second place after winning 16.5 games.

Tsheamo Rapolai (captain), Tshegofatso Mogale, Tshepi Mogale, Wynand Rossouw, Reuben Mafa and Salahadin Oumer were in the u/15 team. Tshepi and Salahadin were awarded as the best players at their specific boards.
