Tzaneen dumping site on fire

A fire has engulfed the Tzaneen dumping site, fueled by extreme heat and winds. Nearby blazes in Rooikoppies have also shrouded R71 in smoke.

TZANEEN – Tzaneen dumping site in Agatha Street has caught fire, with the heat wave and windy conditions as the suspected cause at the moment.

Currently, the fire is uncontrollable, however, firefighters are on the scene working to extinguish the flames.

It is also reported that there is fire coming from Rooikoppies and the tea plantation, which has led to smoke covering the R71 road in Magoebaskloof. As a result, motorists are advised to avoid the R71 until further notice.
