Limpopo continues pothole patching programme

Limpopo's pothole patching programme in the Maake area improves roads, enhancing transport and supporting economic growth in Greater Tzaneen.

TZANEEN – The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Roads continued its pothole patching programme in the Maake area outside Tzaneen this month.

On Tuesday, January 7, Public Works MEC Ernest Machoene visited the project sites, which include the D3889 road from Maake Plaza to Tickyline and the D3895 road from Tickyline to Shiluvane within the Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM).

Machoene was joined by GTM Mayor Gerson Molapisane, speaker Sannie Tiba, and the municipality’s executive committee member responsible for infrastructure, Connie Ramoshaba.

The MEC highlighted the programme’s dual purpose of repairing roads and complementing the department’s #Dikgerekgere Wednesdays initiative, which focuses on maintaining provincial roads.

“This programme ensures that our provincial roads are in good condition, enabling the seamless transportation of goods and commuters while also supporting economic development in the province,” Machoene said.
