Second Chance Matric programme registration open
Register for the Second Chance Matric Support Programme by February 7 to rewrite exams and improve results with free classes at various learning centres.
LIMPOPO – January is a bittersweet time for Gr 12 learners, as some celebrate outstanding results while others grapple with disappointment over failing or not achieving their desired marks.
However, hope remains for matriculants through the Department of Education’s Second Chance Matric Support Programme, which offers an opportunity to rewrite exams and improve results.
The programme is currently open for registrations until February 7, providing a lifeline for those who wish to better their performance.
Speaking at the matric results announcement event at the Ranch Hotel, Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya urged learners to take advantage of this opportunity.
“This programme is an important platform for those who didn’t meet their goals. It’s never too late to try again and achieve success,” she said.
The programme is open to individuals who wrote their Gr 12 exams as far back as 2008. Participants can register to rewrite their exams and attend free classes offered through the initiative.
Classes will begin in February and will run Monday to Friday from 14:30 to 16:30 at various learning centres.
In the Nkowankowa Circuit, learners can attend classes at DZJ Mtebule Secondary School and Phusela Secondary School in Lenyenye. In the Namakgale Circuit in Phalaborwa, classes will be held at Vuxeni Secondary School.
Exams for the programme will take place in May and June at centres such as Tivumbeni and Phosphate Hall, among others.
For more information, interested learners are encouraged to contact their nearest circuit offices. In the Nkowankowa Circuit, enquiries can be made by calling 071 179 9920.
