Lulekani Circuit ranks third in Limpopo

Lulekani Circuit celebrates academic excellence with top achievers and ranks third in Limpopo, recognising outstanding learners and schools.

LIMPOPO – The Lulekani Circuit, under the leadership of manager Eunice Ntsan’wisi, hosted a prestigious excellence academic awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 12, at Frans Du Toit High School.

The event recognised the outstanding achievements of the Matric Class of 2024, as well as top-performing former Gr 11 learners who are now in Gr 12.

In a celebration of academic brilliance, all 10 high schools within the circuit were honoured for their impressive pass rates, with principals and teachers receiving awards for their contributions in various subjects. The top 10 former matric learners of 2024 were acknowledged, along with the top 30 former Gr 11 learners who displayed exceptional promise.

All Saints High School took the top position in the circuit, while individual subject awards showcased remarkable performances.

Thinos Mashego from Ntshuxeko High School secured first place in mathematics with a 95% pass rate and one level seven, while Zvidzai Mutoredzawa from All Saints College excelled in physics with a perfect 100%. Kapela Jose from Frans du Toit High School achieved a 100% pass rate in accounting, earning two level seven distinctions. Teachers from all 21 subjects were also recognised for their dedication and excellence. Sara Rakoma, a former matriculant from Meridian College scooped the top position in the top 10 matriculants while Dire Schoeman from Frans Du Toit High School took first in the top 30 former Gr 11 performers.

Moreover, Lulekani Circuit’s remarkable achievements extended beyond local recognition, as circuit manager, Ntsan’wisi, proudly announced that the circuit had secured the number one position in the Mopani East District with an impressive 94.4% pass rate.

“We are also proud to announce that our 94.4% placed us in position three in the whole province out of 140 circuits,” she said.

She further highlighted that all 10 high schools in the circuit performed above 80%, with seven schools achieving over 90%. Additionally, all 21 subjects showed strong performances, with none classified as underperforming.

Ntsan’wisi expressed her gratitude to principals, teachers, learners, and sponsors for their unwavering support in making this achievement possible. The event also saw praise for the circuit manager’s leadership. The South African Democratic Teacher’s Union (Sadtu) chairperson Richard Ngobeni commended Ntsan’wisi for her visionary leadership, attributing the circuit’s success to her dedication.

“Your hard work made us position one in the Mopani East District, and we thank you for that,” he said.

He also encouraged school leaders to maintain consistency in their results.

The guest speaker, Dr Kgoshi Pilusa, inspired learners to prioritise their education, emphasising the importance of commitment and making the right life choices.

“Play your role and commit your focus to education. Pick the right things in life,” he advised.
