Phalaborwa packs a punch at Box and Dine
Phalaborwa’s Box and Dine Night drew a lively crowd for an evening of boxing, dining, and community spirit.
LIMPOPO – Phalaborwa residents turned out in their numbers for a memorable evening of sport and spectacle at the recent Box and Dine Night, held at the Groenskool Lapa.
Hosted by Phalaborwa’s Xtreme Health and Fitness Centre in collaboration with Champs Boxing Academy in Tzaneen, the event was hailed as a resounding success. Guests were treated to an exciting lineup of bouts, a lively atmosphere, and fine dining, an experience many are already calling for to become an annual tradition.
The evening also marked the official launch of Xtreme’s new boxing division. Organisers used the platform to showcase boxing as more than just a combative sport, but a disciplined martial art often described as one of the toughest to master.
According to ESPN, boxing ranks as the most demanding sport in terms of skill, endurance, and mental fortitude.
One of the night’s highlights was the participation of rising young talents like seven-year-olds Luwan Engelbrecht and Armando Leus, who demonstrated not only skill but the deeper values of the sport. “Boxing builds confidence in the bullied and discipline in the bullies,” said one coach, underscoring the sport’s broad benefits.
