Fatal minibus crash near Hoedspruit leaves several injured

One person died and several were injured in a minibus crash near Hoedspruit on Wednesday as Limpopo authorities investigate.

LIMPOPO – One person was killed and several others seriously injured when a minibus taxi travelling from Tzaneen to Acornhoek crashed near Hoedspruit on Wednesday afternoon.

A burst tyre is believed to have caused the accident.

Dali Tshifhiwa, spokesperson for the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, confirmed the crash to the Herald and said the department is still investigating the cause.

The incident adds to a growing list of serious crashes on Hoedspruit roads, including the R40, over the past three months.

Motorists are urged to exercise extra caution when driving in the area, as investigations continue.
