Lenyenye residents celebrate long-awaited title deeds

Lenyenye residents celebrate as 329 families from Extensions 3–6 finally receive title deeds, securing ownership of their homes.

LIMPOPO – It was a day filled with song, dance, ululations, and even a few joyful tears at the Lenyenye Community Hall as 329 residents from Extensions 3, 4, 5, and 6 finally received official title deeds to their homes, a milestone many had been waiting for years.

The handover, led by Acting Mayor Thabo Maunatlala, was more than the distribution of documents. It was about restoring dignity, cementing ownership, and empowering families with proof that the houses where they have built their lives truly belong to them.

“These are not just pieces of paper,” said Maunatlala. “They are a return of justice, pride, and economic power to our people. Now you have something to leave for your children, not just walls, but wealth.”
