Larries excel at chess tourney

Learners from Tzaneen Primary achieved outstanding results at the Mopani Chess Tournament.

TZANEEN – Learners from Tzaneen Primary achieved outstanding results at the Mopani Chess Tournament, held on August 30 in the Pieter Joubert Hall at the school.

In the u/14 category, Isaac Banyini secured first place after winning all five rounds, while Juno Mpiti recorded three wins and a draw. Bentley Malebati and Kagiso Molele each achieved three wins.

In the u/12 category, Izak van Wyk came fifth with four wins, earning a certificate, and Kgalalelo Mojodo placed seventh with the same record. Manav Manoj Kumar won three rounds and drew one, while Phangasasa Nkwinika and Darsh Patel each claimed three wins.

Umuhluri Nkhwashu.

In the u/10 category, Umuhluri Nkhwashu finished in second place with four wins and a draw, earning a certificate in the process. Ansah Emilia secured three wins and a draw, while Kirtan Patel, Akani Nkwinika and Param Mistry each notched up three wins.
