Limpopo studio prepares reshoot of drama series

A Phalaborwa studio is planning to reshoot The Broken Village, aiming for improved quality and wider distribution.

PHALABORWA – A local production studio is preparing for a reshoot of a locally produced drama series, The Broken Village.

Jayden Photography Studio manager, Cyprus Shai, says the project aims to deliver a fresh and compelling version of the eight–episode series with improved production quality and broader distribution.

The series, which explores themes of community, resilience, and cultural heritage, depicts the daily struggles and victories of a small South African village. Each 30-minute episode is shot in HD and targets viewers aged 18 to 45 who are interested in authentic, culturally rooted stories.

According to Shai, the studio is finishing its production phase. It is now seeking promotional support, media exposure, and sponsorship to cover remaining costs such as props, location fees, and post–production expenses.

“The Broken Village represents the heart of our local stories and the strength of our communities,” she said. “We believe this project has strong potential for national reach with the right media and partnership support.”

The company offers various benefits to potential partners, including prominent logo placement in episode credits and promotional materials, social media promotions featuring the sponsor’s brand, behind-the-scenes content, and exclusive preview screenings for partners and media outlets.

Sponsors will also receive a detailed case study of the collaboration for use in their marketing efforts.

“The studio plans to secure broadcast and digital streaming partnerships within the next six months as part of its distribution strategy,” Shai added.
