Phalaborwa rivals battle to tense 1–1 draw

White Vultures and Phalaborwa Celtic played out a tense 1–1 derby, with both teams still seeking their first ABC Motsepe League win of the season.

LIMPOPO – Phalaborwa’s football rivalry was on full display on Saturday, with the White Vultures and Phalaborwa Celtic refusing to give each other any breathing space as the ABC Motsepe League gains momentum.

From the moment the referee blew the first whistle, it was clear the match would be tense.

Both teams came into the game under pressure to get maximum points since they had each played to a draw in their opening fixtures.

The Saturday’s match was a chance to finally put three points on the board and avoid sinking in the league early.

A win would boost confidence and keep them in the mix early in the season. A loss, meanwhile, risked pushing them down the log before the league had even settled.
