Moca takes home RNB award

The local Phalaborwa based and national R&B sensation, Ally “Moca” Mokgalaka has done it once again by scooping the best R&B award at the 13th Xitsonga Munghana Lonene FM Awards.

The glittering ceremony was attended by 18 thousand music lovers and MLFM listeners at Giyani Stadium on Saturday evening.

Solly Mahlangu opened with a gospel performance while the Station Manager, James Shikwambani declared the awards officially opened.

Moca was the first artist to perform during the official awards ceremony.

He performed his hit single ka MZI.

The crowd was so impressed by Moca’s live performance and went crazy as his velvet voice touched every soul in the crowd.

“I was so impressed and very much proud of Moca’s performance. Moca is a BIG brand. He is one of the country’s greatest musicians,” said Shaddy Teledi, one of his passionate fans.

When Moca was announced as the winner for the best R&B award, the crowd applauded and shouted ‘Moca, Moca, Moca’.

“ I won it for Phalaborwa, Mopani and Limpopo.Thanks a lot for the love and support.I hope I made all of you proud,” remarked a jubilant Moca.

When asked if he is ready to organize the annual Limpopo Marula Festival if given an opportunity, Moca said he is more than ready. “I have organized many shows before I believe it is about time a local be immensely involved in organizing the event and I am available if presented with the opportunity,” noted Moca.

Moca has now won 5XMA awards,1 Metro FM award and 1 Mama Beka Ntsanwisi award, making him the most successful musician to emerge from Phalaborwa so far. Ringo Madlingosi, Mdu Masilela, Dr Thomas Chauke and General Muzka performed to keep the crowd entertained until Sunday morning.
