Laugh your socks off at the #DStviRock Comedy Festival

Director, producer, MC and veteran South African comedian, David Kau will entertain Polokwane with his one man show “Half Man Half Comic” as part of the DStv iRock Limpopo Comedy Festival on Thursday, 21 September 2017 from 20:00 at Jack Botes Hall.

Best known as the creative brainchild behind the “Blacks Only” comedy franchise, this Kroonstad-born comic began his career as the first black stand-up comedian in the 1998 Smirnoff International Comedy Festival in Cape Town; and will celebrate 20 years in the industry in 2018.

“The DStv iRock brand have become more than just music festivals. This year we’ve brought one of the best comics in the business to headline the DStv iRock Limpopo Comedy Festival. David Kau is a veteran all-round funny man who doesn’t shy away from edgy topics and close-to-the-bone humour. His fans love his comedic style and we are honoured Limpopo will be one of the first stops on his international tour,” says Rito Hlungwani, Founder and Director of the iRock Music Festivals.

In one of Kau’s latest posts on Twitter, he says: “Limpopo people come eat your money, go get your tickets at Computicket for my one man show, #HalfManHalfComic at #JackBotesHall 21st September, 20:00 with @thabang_er and @noko_most #dstvirock…”

Kau’s performance at The DStv iRock Comedy Festival is part of his first international tour for his latest one man show, “Half Man Half Comic”.

The comedy veteran kicks off his tour in South Africa and will move into Europe, North America, UAE, Australia, Asia, and ending off with more countries in Africa.

He will perform alongside Limpopo-born comedienne, singer, presenter, MC, actress, speaker, Comics Choice Award nominee, and self-proclaimed second queen of Limpopo, Noko Moswete.

This regular at Jembe Tavern’s Wednesday comedy nights at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World is known to make anyone laugh.

Another Limpopo native, Thabang Eugene Ramasenya or Thabang ER, as he is known by his fans, will also bring his signature Sepedi and English comedy to the stage, highlighting the everyday experiences of a young Mopedi man in South Africa. Thabang’s comedic style appeals to audiences across the ethnic spectrum.

This year’s iRock Limpopo Music Festival is presented by DStv in association with Standard Bank, Hunters, Polokwane Local Municipality, Mall of the North, Limpopo Tourism Agency and Daily Sun.
