The crowd asked for yet another night like this, and to their plea, comedy night will be held at the end of each month.

With great enthusiasm and a funny bone, comedians and poets came together to bring a once in a lifetime experience to Bolobedu last Sunday.

The event was organised and facilitated by Shereen Mmakgwahla Maake and it was hosted at Smokehouse Diner and Restaurant in Ga-Kgapane.

Speaking to Shereen, she told Letaba Herald that she got tired of sitting around in pity and decided to do something that would bring people together.

“It took a while for me to gather my strength and organise yet another event as the other ones I tried to organise didn’t go so well. I had fears but I knew I wouldn’t achieve much if I sat by and did nothing. So I started planning for the event since July and made every effort to see through to it becoming a success,” she explained.

With a breathtaking performance by Dipuo ‘Dipsy the poet’ who recited a poem titled “If you were mine” the night was set to be a memorable one indeed.

Further performances by comedians from Bolobedu and some from Polokwane, the crowd was kept in stitches as they experienced the first ever comedy night hosted in their area.

With some of the attendees being left with a bitter taste in their mouths from being laughed at, they did not let it stop them from enjoying their night with good company and of course beverages that kept them in calm tones.

There was also a guest performance by local hip hop sensation and hit maker, Danver Mars.

“The event was a success. The first of many I hope. I am grateful to everyone who supported me and helped ensure that this night happens,” concluded Shereen.
