Lower fuel prices a good start to 2023

The diesel price will see the largest decrease – that of R2.47 per litre.

On Wednesday, January 4, according to the AA, motorists will experience some relief regarding the fuel price. The price of petrol will decrease by R1.85/litre, diesel by R2.47/litre and paraffin by R1.93/litre.

“These reductions are certainly good news for all consumers and signal a positive start to fuel pricing for 2023. These decreases will not take fuel prices to levels seen in January 2022, but will, nonetheless, go a long way to alleviate the fuel price burden – and its associated impact on other prices – felt by millions of South Africans.

“For many travellers who are currently on vacation this is also good news as it will undoubtedly reduce expenses on the return leg of their journeys,” said the AA.

If you will be returning home from your holiday, please drive carefully and abide by the rules of the road.
