VIDEO – Road a death trap

Roadworks have turned the R33 Wonderfontein/Carolina road into a death trap and motorists are warned to be extremely cautious when venturing onto this road.

Earlier this week daily users of the R33 demanded answers from Rhulani Projects. The company, based in Nelspruit, who are conducting the roadworks.

The company CEO, Mr Selby Rhulani Khoza has failed to respond to media enquiries.

At least one person is still in hospital when loose gravel on the road surface caused the minibus she was travelling in to overturn last week.

Within three days six vehicles were involved in two separate accidents.

Loose gravel kicked up by the high volume of traffic on the road has shattered many car windows, including that of the Carolina SAPS Commanding Officer.

Even a police vehicle was not spared when its window was shattered.
