Are you missing a loved one? Bodies at mortuary still unidentified
The State Mortuary is currently holding six unclaimed bodies. Why is no one looking for them?

Three people who were killed on 2 October in an accident on the Van Dyksdrift road are still unidentified.

All three deceased were occupants inside a black Toyota which collided with a SG Coal bakkie.

Two occupants died on the scene and a third in hospital. Almost a month after the accident, no one has come to claim the bodies.
The black Toyota the deceased traveled in, was regularly seen using the Middelburg – Kriel road.
The following bodies are also still unidentified at the State Mortuary:
• On 20 September there was a hit and run on the old Belfast road. The deceased body is yet to be identified.
• On 24 September a body was found in Eastdene. No one has come forward to identify the body.
• The body of an elderly man, believed to be Pakistani, was found near towers. The body is still being kept at the mortuary and has not yet been identified.
