New Municipal Manager quietly slips into position

The appointment of a new acting Municipal Manager, Bheki Khenisa, was done without any announcement last week.

Bheki Khenisa previously worked as Municipal Manager in Rustenburg. He was ousted for unspent conditional grants of over R400 million.

Although he did not want to confirm his appointment when he was contacted by www.mobserver.co.zaSteve Tshwete mayor Mike Masina confirmed that Mr Khenisa was appointed acting MM by the MEC.

A special council meeting was held earlier this week, to obtain council approval for his appointment. Read more about how opposition parties reacted in the Friday edition of the Middelburg Observer.
