According to information two sedans and a third car were involved in the accident between Wonderfontein and Alzu on the N4. Two cars were almost completely destroyed whilst the third car was slightly damaged.

The accident occurred between 16:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday.

An unknown number of people were seriously injured and one woman lost her life.

Information are that she was a tourist from Singapore who was visiting South Africa. She has not been formally identified.
