Mayor Mike Masina tenders formal resignation

Mayor Mike Masina officially resigned from office on Wednesday.

He told www.mobserver.co.za that his Mayoral Committee Members are well versed in their portfolios and that they would be able to bridge the vacuum he would leave.

Mayor Masina says he believes an urgent special council sitting will be scheduled early next week for the election of a new mayor.

He has been deployed to the Nkangala District Municipality but have not received formal instructions from the ANC yet.
