Not a welcome delivery

MIDRAND - An unsuspecting helper was duped into believing that three men had come to deliver some goods for her employers.

Midrand police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said the helper was doing washing when she heard hooting at the gate.

She went to check and saw a white Mercedes Benz Vito without a registration number plate.

The occupants of the vehicle told her they wanted to deliver something for the owner of the house.

The helper opened the gate and the suspects entered the premises. One of them pointed a firearm at her and forced her into the house.

Two other men went inside and started to grind open the safe.

While the suspects were busy the owner of the house arrived. They fled the scene making off with a cellphone.

No one has been arrested and the police’s investigation is underway.
