Fake cops hijack woman

MIDRAND - A woman was hijacked by men posing as police officers in Vorna Valley.

According to police spokesperson, Constable Matome Tlamela, the complainant was making a U-turn on Le Roux Avenue to collect her ID book at home when an unmarked sedan with a blue light on it stopped her.

“The suspects, who were in police police uniform approached her and asked if she was aware of the wrong turn she had made. The complainant apologised, but the suspects ordered her to get out of the car and said they wanted to check if her breaks were working. When she was out of her car one of the suspects pushed her into the boot and drove off with her and dropped her off at Corporate Park,” said Tlamela.

No one has been arrested yet and police investigations are underway.
