Hospital reaches out to children
MIDRAND - Ikageng Day Care Centre was a chosen beneficiary to the newly launched Food Drive Campaign by Life Carstenhof Clinic.
Staff members, including casualty doctors and management, recently visited the centre to handover a variety of essentials and spend a day with the children.
Among other items donated were non-perishable food items collected from all units of the hospital, R3 000 worth of other grocery items and R2 000 worth of blankets, linen and pillows.
According to the hospital’s Kgomotso Zimase, the aim of the campaign was to encourage all staff members and resident doctors to donate non-perishable food items of any quantity to the centre.
Ikageng is an early Childhood Development programme that focuses on education, stimulation, preparation, orientation and upliftment, as well as school readiness programmes for children from the ages of three to seven years.
The facility offers education and care for 85 children.
