Well known police officer dies
KAYALAMI - A Midrand police officer, who was active in the Kyalami area, has passed away.
According to Takis Michalakis, chairman of the Midrand Sector 4 Crime Forum, Warrant Officer Selvan Reddy suffered from a heart attack a few days ago. “Whilst he was in good care and fought bravely for his life he succumbed and passed away,” Michalakis said.
Reddy was a brave and noble police officer who was known for his fight against drug dealers in the Midrand area. He was also known for his work within the Greater Kyalami area, where he was recognised as one of the heroes who fought illegal poaching.
Sun Valley resident Mandy Collins, who worked closely with Reddy, said she was absolutely devastated. “He has done so much for the conservancy, it is a very sad loss.”
Michalakis said the funeral would be held at the Acts Church in Pretorius Street, Vorna Valley.
