Best friends celebrate women
MIDRAND - On Friday 9 August, in celebration of National Women's Day, a special women's day event was held at Blue Valley Country Club in Midrand.
Best friends, Simphiwe Lesotho and Kaya FM talk show host, Mapaseka Mokwele organised the event to celebrate the multiple roles of women in society. Mokwele says, “We wanted to bring women together to understand who we are. We wanted to celebrate the beauty of women and also create a platform for successful women to network.”
The event was hosted by Kaya FM DJ, Kgomotso Meso and the guests were treated to a variety of talks which highlighted different aspects of being a woman. Pontsho Manzi, editor of Fabimage, gave a talk on being a fabulous woman, organiser, Mapaseka Mokwele talked about women respecting their sexuality and Kaya FM DJ, Thabo Mokwele enlightened the all-female audience with a talk about respect from a man’s perspective.
The stylish ladies at the event were then served a delicious lunch with a fashion show for dessert in which Vesti Boutique delighted the ladies with their latest clothing collections.
The event was certainly a celebration of women with guests well-informed about style, beauty and business.
