Robbers invade a Noordwyk home

Police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said the complainant was coming home from work and had just parked his car when he was approached by an unknown man who pointed a firearm at him and told him to lie on the ground.

“At that point, two other suspects came in through the gate and took him into the house, tied him up with a wire hanger and took him to the bathroom. The suspects stole the complainant’s car keys, house keys, TV, cell phone, watches, laptop, shoes and play station before leaving the house,” said Tlamela.

After the suspects left the house the complainant screamed for help and his neighbours came to his rescue. Tlamela added, “One of the suspects was wearing a balaclava. The police have not made any arrests yet, but we are busy with investigations.”

Tlamela added, “During a home invasion there are a few things one should remember to avoid being harmed. Do not resist especially if the attacker has a weapon. Obey the instructions of the attacker and not ask questions and remember that your life is more important than your possessions so don’t try to be a hero because you could be killed.”
