Help animals in distress
On 25 August the Society for Animals in Distress will host a fundraiser at the Rivonia Barnyard Theatre.

The society encouraged the Midrand community to support this event which will include the production, Route 66.
Route 66 features a performance of country and acoustic rock.
The society is a non-profit organisation, based in Midrand which provides veterinary care to low or no income households in seven townships in the North and North-East of Johannesburg.
It provides 100 000 treatments per annum and educates 14 000 children a year from the townships it service.
Tammy Harding of the society said, “Our mission is to protect animals, heal sickness, fight ignorance and empower others to do the same. We believe in empowering the pet owner and the communities we service to create a sustainable and long-term solution to responsible pet ownership in areas faced with negative socio-economic influence.”
She added, “We receive no government funding, therefore donors and fundraising plays a huge role in ensuring we meet our obligations.”
