A smell most foul
MIDRAND - A pungent sewage odour has got at least one Midrand motorist blocking her nose on Allandale Road everyday.
The motorist, who did not wish to be named, said the smell was present in the mornings and late afternoons for the past year in the dip on Allandale Road, between Harry Galaun Drive and Greig Street.
Johannesburg Water spokesperson Millicent Kabwe said, “The foul sewage smell was resolved more than three weeks ago and it was caused by a sewer line that was not functioning properly.” Kabwe said the odour should have disappeared.
Kabwe urged, “If the residents come across any problems regarding the issue, they can report them to us.”
