Breakthru Midrand Striders Race
MIDRAND - More than 30 Breakthru Midrand Striders runners took part in the Spirit of Flight 10km race.
The race took place on the Zwartkop airforce base runway.
Breakthru Midrand chairman, Duane Newman said, “The club had a good turnout with over 30 club members running the race and competing for various trophies on offer.” Newman added that it was pleasing to see the good times achieved, with quite a few runners finishing in under 40 minutes. Richard Senago was the first club member home in 36 minutes and Judy Bird finished in 40.
In the men’s category, Senago won the open event, Leon Baker was first veteran home and Sontaga Mabale won the masters. Brian May won the grandmaster category and Dylan Baker took the junior award.
The ladies category saw Judy Bird win the open and the master, Angela Zeiss the veteran and Penny Visser the grandmaster.
