Equine love to help community

MIDRAND - While Bluemoon Equine Assited Therapy Programme is in the business of using horses to help people, on 14 September music and fun will be their remedy.

The programme is hosting a blues, rock and folk festival fundraiser at Liedjieboer in Glen Austin to raise funds to support its work with underprivileged communities. Yenzani Children’s Home in Noordwyk will benefit from the day, and some children will attend to ride ponies.

Cluny Farm and Irene Homes are also beneficiaries of the programme.

The fundraiser will be held from 3pm to midnight on 14 September. All family members are welcome and the day promises artists, bands, food, storytelling, horse rides and a children’s play area. Music artists Lew Bate and The Sengani Horse will perform, and bands to look forward to are Mercury Sage, 1925, Johnny and The Bomb, Stormy Monday and The Carolina Bridal Party.
