Slots champion wins R1.2 million
MONTECASINO - Tsogo Sun's nationwide The Slots Factor tournament came to an end at Montecasino with the final competition and the announcement of the winner - who walked away with R1.2 million.
The tournament was an eight-week long competition which brought together Tsogo Sun’s 14 casinos across South Africa.
Ninety-nine finalists and their partners from around the country were flown to Johannesburg for the final which consisted of 10 heats, during which the 99 finalists were whittled down to the top 10 scorers.
But in the end there could only be one winner.
At the prize-giving ceremony at La Toscana the 10 finalists anxiously awaited the announcement of the winner.
Anita Narain, who represented Gold Reef City Casino, was announced as the winner of the tournament and was in a state of shock as she received her R1.2 million cheque.
Director of gaming at Tsogo Sun Steve Hight said, “Being our first ever national slots competition we were delighted with the response to The Slots Factor. Thousands of slots enthusiasts arrived at our casinos and ‘bought-in’ to the competition with just R100 to stand a chance at winning R1.2 million. This was the biggest prize ever offered in a slots competition.”
Glenn Joseph, general manager of Montecasino said, “We are honoured to have been selected to host the final of The Slots Factor tournament. Gaming is all about entertainment and that is certainly what the players and spectators experienced here tonight.”
