Tails wag in fun run

VORNA VALLEY - Takkies and paws pounded on the tarmac in Vorna Valley at the Society for Animals in Distress’s fun run.

Dogs and their owners were put through their paces in a 2.5km or 5km walk around the society’s neighbourhood. While the energetic participants ran, others enjoyed a stroll and caught up on neighbourhood news. Metro police slowed down motorists and guided the walkers and runners while MedAid 24/7 was on standby.

The fun event marked World Animal Day and helped to raise funds for the Society for Animals in Distress as MySchool/ MyVillage/ MyPlanet Fundraising Programme donated R15 for every entry. Run/Walk for Life lent its support for the society. The society expressed its gratitude for the support they received.

Next on the society’s social calendar is the carols by candlelight and night market on 30 November. All members of the community are welcome to join in the carol singing and fun that the evening has to offer, which includes a donkey-doo competition and fun for children.

The event will be held at the society’s premises at The Paddocks, Plot 20 on Moerdyk Street, Vorna Valley from 5pm to 8pm.
