A journey with cancer, through words

MIDRAND - Joyce Machuisa has been living with breast cancer since 2008.

The cancer has spread throughout her body, therefore she cannot be operated on, but Machuisa is not wallowing in self-pity, nor does she harbour any bitterness.

In fact, she has written a book, Walkable Journey, that documents her journey with cancer: not for her own gratification but to help others who might find themselves in her predicament. She wrote this book without funds, with a borrowed laptop.

The launch of the book is on 16 November at Cotswold Inn, 123 Acacia Street, Midrand.

Professor Stella Vettori sponsored the venue, since Machuisa is not employed permanently and was struggling to fund the event.
