New bylaw for property problems

MIDRAND - The City of Joburg is in the process of introducing a bylaw to deal with problem properties.

Ward 112 councillor Leverne Young said the bylaw would deal with issues ranging from hijacked buildings, neglected properties and properties not used for the purpose they were zoned for.

She said at this stage it was still a draft bylaw. The public was encouraged to participate in this process by attending the scheduled meeting on 23 November at 10am at the reception room of the Metro Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard in Braamfontein or at the Altrec Sport Centre, 410 Eastbank Avenue, Alexandra.

If you cannot attend any of the public meetings, you can fax or e-mail your submissions.
