Eight bodies found in house
PRESIDENT PARK - Midrand police confirmed that eight bodies were found in a house, operating as an illegal mortuary, on Modderfontein Road in President Park on 9 December.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said the owner was arrested and would appear in the Midrand Magistrate’s Court on 10 December. The outcome of the appearance was unknown by the time Midrand Reporter went to print.
A tip-off to the Department of Environmental Health led officials to the house and soon after the discovery, Midrand police were called to the scene.
Tlamela said the owner operating the mortuary had a certificate to operate another mortuary in Germiston, but had not received a licence to operate at this particular premises.
The owner of the property was upset when a Midrand Reporter journalist arrived at the property and would not comment, stating that Midrand police had obtained the necessary information. Tlamela said the police would continue their investigations.
