The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said for a good part of October and November, Austin View had power failures on a weekly basis. “City Power finally gave us a generator mid-November but it ran out of diesel and City Power officials took days to restore power for us.”
He said they currently have power but residents live in uncertainty as to when the generator will stop working. As the festive season approaches, they worry that they may have many power failures.
Sol Masolo of City Power said Austin View required a mini-sub as the generator was failing to carry the load needed by customers. “City Power has ordered a mini-sub to be installed in the area, ” he said.
“Unfortunately we do not know yet when the mini-sub power supply will be available. We hope it will be before the end of December.”
