Motlanthe welcomes Ivory Park pupils

IVORY PARK - Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga visited schools in Ivory Park to mark the start of the 2014 school year on 15 January.

They visited Eqinisweni and Oracle Ponelopele secondary schools in the township.

Motlanthe and Motshekga checked that the schools were ready for the the academic year and spoke to staff.

Motlanthe spoke of education as a tool to bring people together and as an equaliser. He also advised pupils and said, “Never do tomorrow, what you can do today.”

MEC for Education Barbara Creecy was also set to visit Noordwyk High School in Midrand where Ward 112 councillor Leverne Young will hand over the school to the Gauteng Education Department of Education.
