Domestic Watch encourages kindness

SUN VALLEY - The Domestic Watch crime prevention meeting was held at La Fiorentina in Sun Valley.

Making A Difference campaign’s Domestic Watch member, Bonnie Friedman, encouraged attendees to show generosity in all situations.

Friedman said, “In every area of life be generous to people you meet. As we start our meetings for the year, employers have to be generous and show kindness to their domestic workers and gardeners, and employees have to show the same kindness back.”

Friedman added, “Together with the Midrand police we will continue to be the eyes and ears of the community and report all crimes in our area.”

Victim empowerment co-ordinator Constable Nanty Belebesi and the Midrand police youth desk were present at the meeting.

“If you are a victim of crime do not sit with the trauma. As domestic workers and gardeners some of you are tied up after robberies and housebreaking. Counselling is available at the police station,” Belebesi said

Domestic Watch is an ongoing crime prevention project which helps community members stay informed about criminal activity.
