Greening project in Vorna Valley

MIDRAND - The Vorna Valley residents association is on a mission to improve their suburb.

Residents association spokesperson Sue Klingenberg said, ” We have embarked on our first phase of greening our suburb along Harry Galaun Road near the bridge.

“Over December they installed concrete balls and created gardens along both sides of the road to protect the green belt from ongoing degradation due to vehicle traffic and other illegal use.”

The residents association hoped that this project would kick-start increasing participation by residents and businesses in Vorna Valley through increased support and funding.

“Similar projects are planned at other entrances to Vorna Valley, including Le Roux and Greig Street. We would like to appeal to businesses and residents for donations of equipment, rocks, tree stumps, plants and money,” Klingenberg said.
