Mayor to meet Midrand

HALFWAY HOUSE - Executive Mayor Parks Tau and several members of his mayoral committee will visit Midrand on 26 June from 6.30pm at Halfway House Primary School.

Members will include MMC of Finance, Geoffrey Makhubo, MMC of Transport Christine Walters and MMC of Public Safety Sello Lemao.

The evening is to meet with residents on billing issues, service delivery and anti-crime initiatives for Ward 112.

As highlighted in President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation address, Joburg’s billing issues will take priority as part of a major upgrade in service delivery to City of Joburg residents.

While Ward 112 has been considered as one of the top functioning wards under Leverne Young, ANC councillor candidate for Ward 112, the ward has undergone significant infrastructural upgrades. These include the resurfacing of Harry Galaun Road, the ward’s major arterial road and the upcoming completion of the Le Roux Road overpass to relieve traffic congestion in the area.

The majority of the potholes in the ward have either been fixed or have been earmarked for completion, and the verge cutting schedules including the Vorna Valley vlei will also enjoy a more frequent trimming schedule.

The City of Joburg billing team is expected to deal with residents’ billing issues, and advised that all relevant documentation, reference numbers and readings should be brought.
