Gift67 is back on the calendar
MIDRAND - With Mandela Day around the corner, Barbeque Downs Community is planning ahead for its third-annual Gift 67 Dinner.
The dinner celebrates the 67 years the late Nelson Mandela spent serving the people of South Africa.
Chairperson of Barbeque Downs Community, Candice James said the dinner-fundraiser would be hosted at Da Vincenzo Restaurant in Barbeque Downs. This year the charity dinner will raise funds for the Children of Fire which helps charities that help young survivors of burn injuries throughout Africa, and is affiliated to Children of Fire International. Last year the dinner raised R26 000 and helped three charities, Kids with Rhythm, Midrand Child Welfare and Cobra United Soccer Team to acquire equipment and food supplies.
At this year’s dinner patrons can expect good food and wine, and a raffle in order to enjoy a fun night for a worthy cause.
Bookings should be made through Da Vincenzo Restaurant and James urged all community members to encourage their friends and families to attend.
