Russian terriers join expo
MIDRAND - Animal lovers will be able to meet Lynne Ward and her three Russian terriers at the World of Dogs and Cats and Pet Exhibition from 18 to 20 July at the Gallagher Convention Centre.
The Russian terriers are named, Ruschka, Polkan and Baba-Yaga.
Ward said the breed of Russian terriers were a giant breed that were calm, confident and self-assured.
“They adapt well to training and were bred to guard and protect. They are deeply loyal and very protective of the family,” she said.
Ward and her Russians dogs will be taking part in some competitions, and the Dogs of the World Parade at the expo on 19 July. The parade will see about 100 breeds of dogs on show.
Ward said the exhibition offered the community the opportunity to explore pet ownership.
“Also on show are exotic pets, budgies and parrots, fish, koi, rabbits and pedigree rats, [as well as] new breeds of imported guinea pigs. There is something to delight every member of your family, young or old. Exciting events take place in the two arenas and an equine ring,” said Ward.
