Pickpocketers arrested

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said the incident occurred before 5pm on 3 July at Boulders shopping centre.

She said a security guard noticed that two women aged 23 and 26, and a man, 33, took items out of the bag of a woman who was shopping in the mall.

“According to the complainant in this case, she was tipped off by the security officer that the male suspect had taken her belongings out of her handbag,” said Tlamela. The two women acted as accomplices.

“The complainant does not know how the suspect managed to take her items out of her bag,” said Tlamela. The suspects were apprehended and then arrested on charges of common robbery.
