A talk to inspire

MIDRAND - On 19 July, Washington Business Park in Midrand will play host to Bonnke Shipalana, an inspirational speaker.

He will perform for the third time in his 10-part South African tour called The Power Within Me.

His tour is aimed at changing people’s perception of themselves through the realisation of their own purpose. Shipalana said greatness is unrestricted and lies dormant in the depths of all people.

“Imagine a telephone, not just any telephone but the nicest telephone you have ever seen, it’s pretty but it is not connected to the telephone line,” said Shipalana.

He said people who have not realised their purpose are like this telephone. They have abilities and talents but without a connection to the source, they lack functionality and thus cannot access their full potential.

Shipalana will be joined by South African comedian David Kau and the first black Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa at his next performance.

Shipalana said the people who go against the grain are the types of people he wants on his show because they have not allowed the world to define them.

Since his tour kicked off in April, Shipalana has visited Pretoria and Polokwane. He said the attendance has been better than expected.

His one wish for Mandela Day is that each person lock themselves in a room for 67 minutes and think about how the world would be different if they had not existed.
