Baby still missing
IVORY PARK Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said a three-week-old baby boy who was taken from his mother on 1 July has still not been found.
The suspect offered to buy clothes for the baby and took the mother, Marta Chambal who is from Mozambique, to Kopanong shopping centre. The suspect, who was carrying the baby at the time, stepped outside the store to answer a call and vanished with the baby.
|”We appeal to anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the woman to please contact us immediately,” Warrant Officer Sekgobela said.
Chambal told police that the suspect’s name was Sophie.
The suspect is between 25 and 30 years of age, is dark in complexion and is heavily built. Anyone with information can contact Captain Hlengani Shilenge on 082 778 9378.
