Principal Jacqui Wilson said, “We asked all the pupils and parents, 70 families, to bring dog and cat food for donation to the school. The response was overwhelming, we got one ton of pet food.”
Animal Lovers Project Swing events and fundraising co-ordinator, Ilse Weddell said they appreciated the donation. “It is wonderful to see the younger generation getting involved in helping people and animals in need.” She added that the project distributes a ton of food per month and relies solely on donations from members of the public.
Midrand SPCA chairperson Brenda Lucas said the donation would go a long way in helping animals. “The generous donation is much needed by the SPCA and we appreciate such kindness and generosity.”
